Meet the team

Simon joined Andorran in 2011, having trained and qualified in a small four partner firm, before moving on to a leading independent medium-sized practice in the West Midlands.

Working closely with Roger, Simon heads up the firm’s audit services to commercial and charity clients.  Although Roger retains ultimate responsibility as the sole signatory of audit reports, Simon heads up the delivery of audit services for the practice.

Simon will deliver some of the audit work himself and at other times will supervise and review the work of the other members of the team.

The proud father of two young boys, Simon has seen his stock rise at the same rate as that of his beloved Birmingham City.

Simon is also the current office Fantasy Football champion, having beaten off the challenges of the supposedly more clued-up members of the team.

James is the latest, but a key recruit, to Andorran.  Having worked in the personal tax department of two local firms, James came to Andorran to deliver the firm’s personal and corporate tax services.

In addition to tax compliance work, James sees it as an important part of his role to advise clients on how to keep their taxes (legally of course!) to a minimum.  He is the regular ‘go-to’ guy for all your tax queries.

A local lad, James is married with one young child and is keen to help the firm’s development in this key area of client advice.  Outside of work he enjoys running and was a strong chess player in his younger days – his claim to fame being a draw against the former US champion.

Claire has been with Andorran since 2005, having joined us after qualifying with another local Gloucestershire firm.

Claire is a key member of our accounting and tax compliance team, preparing accounts and tax returns for small and medium-sized businesses and local charities.

Claire has two very energetic boys who keep her extremely busy outside of work.  If she has any spare time, and energy, Claire enjoys cooking and keeping fit at the gym or at Zumba.

Lisa took up the opportunity to work with Roger at Andorran, having first trained with him at the offices of a national firm in Cheltenham.

Having subsequently qualified and spent several years in industry, Lisa was keen to return to the practice and we provided her with the perfect opportunity.

Lisa is a sub-contract auditor at Andorran.

Richard joined Andorran in 2006, after recently qualifying as an Accounting Technician and is currently in the advanced stages of qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Richard’s time is split between the audit team and accounting/tax compliance services.

Andrew joined us in September 2011 as our first graduate trainee Chartered Accountant.

Through his studies and work at Andorran, Andrew is able to hone his skills in auditing, accounting, corporate and personal tax.  So expect to see him popping up at any of our clients!

Outside of work Andrew is a keen sportsman. You will usually find him either on the golf course or watching the horse racing.  Andrew is fluent in Spanish, having graduated in Spanish and Business Studies, as well as having a South American partner!

Barbara has been with the firm since it began in 1998, starting as a part-time office administrator.

Since then Barbara has re-trained and since 2004 has been the mainstay of the firm’s payroll bureau provision.

Because of the nature of the work, Barbara is in regular contact with clients and knows the importance of accurate and timely outputs from her work.

In addition to payroll services, Barbara deals with all of the firm’s Company Secretarial work, including new company formation and the submission of statutory returns.

Maureen joined Andorran in 2012 as the firm expanded its payroll and management accounting activity.  Working closely with Barbara, Maureen’s principal role is as part of our payroll service provision.  She also has many years experience preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounting, and as part of her role provides support in these areas when the occasion demands.

Heidi has worked on a sub-contract basis for us on and off for many years.  A self-employed bookkeeper in her own right, Heidi is responsible for delivering VAT returns and management accounts for those clients who engage us to carry out this work for them.

Debbie is generally the first face you see when you come into the office and usually the first voice you hear when you phone us.

Our receptionist and administrator, Debbie has worked for Andorran since late 2010, organising the rest of us on a daily basis.
