Client principals

 Roger Downes FCA is the Managing Director of Andorran with all the responsibilities that the title would suggest.

Roger has been the driving force behind the firm since he founded it in 1998.  From a start-up group of Roger, a fellow director (who has since retired from the practice), and a part-time administrator, Roger has developed the firm into the established business that it is today.

Having trained and qualified in the audit department of a national firm, Roger became a senior partner in that practice before leaving to form Andorran.

Roger’s auditing background stands him in good stead for heading up Andorran’s delivery of audit services to commercial businesses and charities alike.

He leads the delivery of tax planning and business advisory services to the owner-managed business sector that is the firm’s core client base.

Roger holds the quality and timeliness of client service extremely dear, believing that these aspects are the key differentiation between firms servicing the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise market.

A keen sportsman, Roger has been a director of Cheltenham Town Football Club, Captain at his golf club, Naunton Downs, where he is currently Honorary Treasurer, and a sports reporter on what was then Severn Sound Radio.

A father of three, one of whom is now a trainee at Andorran, Roger has been a Cheltenham businessman all his working life.


 Cinzia joined the practice in 2001, initially as Roger’s assistant, but has risen through the ‘ranks’ to become the firm’s Senior Manager.

Having worked for, and qualified with, two other small Gloucestershire practices, Cinzia heads up the Accounts team at Andorran.  She is also the principal advisor to several of the office’s small businesses and regularly guides people who are setting up their own business.

Having worked with Roger to help develop the firm’s extensive client base of local charities, Cinzia is our expert on charity accounts formats and disclosures.  She is also the most knowledgeable member of the team on Sage accounts, having previously lectured on it at the local college.

Cinzia takes her fair share of executive responsibilities, including the firm’s own management accounts/payroll.  She is also the Qualified Person Responsible for Training – a grand title meaning that she looks after our students.

Married with two school age children, Cinzia manages her balance of professional and domestic commitments without fluster.  She also finds time to act as Treasurer for a local parents and friends association and as a parent governor at her children’s school.
